Character of Fragrance
Koju was the master of incense to the Imperial Palace during the Tensho Era.

Eight generations later, Jyuemon Takai became well known for many of his famous incenses and "KOJU 1575" expresses the life of Jyuemon Takai through various distinguishing notes.

Today, the legacy to create fine incense continues.

The Japanese master perfumer who made these wonderful scents for KOJU 1575 is Hisao Iwai.

French designer, Fred Néry, designed the beautiful and elegant boxes for each scent.

Here was born the mix of cultures between East and West, through traditional incense made by Nippon Kodo who masters the know-how from the 16th century, more than 430 years ago.
