The enchanting peony enjoyed enormous popularity in Edo. Its bewitching form is reminiscent of a beautiful geisha, and gazing
upon a peony you can almost hear the music and see the dances of the geisha quarter. This was an exclusive world for the
privileged few, and its is said that customers' time spent in tea houses was measured by sticks of incense.
The fragrance of the peony, "queen of the flowers" evokes this beautiful and evanescent world.

Doesn't burn with a traditional incense smell--this is a true Japanese incense with little wood burn scent. Very beautiful. My favorite in this like is the Cherry Blossom, which is above and beyond. But all of them smell nice. This is similar to Cherry Blossom but even sweeter and more floral--definitely a good one for those who like perfumey scents.

The aroma on this one is very floral in an old school way, it's sweet and perfumy but with some very musky background.... something warm and fleshy about it. It lingers a bit but doesn't overstay it's welcome, no feeling of stale perfume or dead flowers

Perhaps not for everyone or for every situation/moment, but if you love the smell complicated and musky floral smells and old perfume, there's an intimate charm to be found here
